Allstream’s Advantages
LOWER COSTS THAN GRIT BLASTING
Because only water is used to remove coatings with UHP Equipment, water blasting brings labor costs down vs. grit blasting by eliminating the need to shut down for collection and disposal of abrasive. High productivity and no cleaning means you accelerate your project.
PRODUCES A CLEANER SURFACE
PURE water is used and a cleaner surface is achieved. UHP equipment removes coatings and leaves a near white metal surface with the original profile intact. Corosion contaminants are removed from deep pits leaving your surface with a much lower level of residual chlorides vs abrasive blasting. A cleaner surface means applied coatings will last longer.
THE ABILITY TO WORK ALONGSIDE OTHER TRADES
With water, you do not have to shut down the work area because of the sand cloud when conventional blasting. This allows the other trades to continue working which results in greater productivity. No grit in your bearings, ventilation, or other mechanical equipment.
INCREASING ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS
Regulations regarding sand blasting have become more strict. As we learn more about the negative health effects of harmful metals in sand, UHP water blasting.
INCREASED WATER BLAST PRODUCTIVITY
The Stingray can blast an avg. of 4,500 sq ft per 12 hr shift, which is equivalent to 11 sand blasters. The increase comes from the new generation UHP pump, an upgraded and more powerful vacuum and a larger cutting path.
CONTAINMENT
Less containment is needed when using UHP Hand Lances. The Stingray Robotic System is 100% self contained.
REDUCED OVERALL PROJECT TIME
Removal of coatings with water instead of grit allows for other work to be completed during water blast operation. Steel, mechanical, electrical work, or painting can be performed simultaneously with water blasting surface preparation.
REDUCED CLEAN UP AND ASSOCIATED LABOR
No longer do you have to spend days cleaning up the dry dock or work area. Another significant labor reduction.
DISPOSAL COSTS
Reduced waste eliminates the need for complicated procedures. Water is filtered back to tap water quality levels and can be discharged onsite.
INDUSTRY ACCEPTANCE
Many.
WEATHER
During inclement weather, rain, UHP work can continue while grit blasting should be shut down.
JOB FOOTPRINT
Equipment location and footprint on a jobsite can be very critical. The overall job footprint is reduced when comparing to sand blasting spreads. We have engineered our equipment to take up as little space as possible.
